Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
What a powerful verse. The word "universe" means a single spoken sentence (uni=single + verse=spoken sentence), and time, space, and matter appear simultaneously in this first sentence. God is the creator, and with ten words, the Bible exposes the religions and philosophies of man. Atheism is out, Polytheism is null and void, Evolution is a fairy tale, and Unitarianism and pantheism don’t pan out because God and heaven are separate. Greek philosophy perishes in light of the beginning of the earth, and existentialism and fatalism fall flat because the omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient Godhead worked together in this creative act (Gen.1:26; Jn.1:1-3). It’s no wonder the Bible is a controversial book!
